Giulia De Leo

Founder, De Leo Athletics | Personal Trainer | Strength & Conditioning Specialist | Fitness Educator

For nearly two decades, Giulia De Leo has helped people feel stronger, move better, and live healthier lives.

Giulia began her career in 2008 after completing her degree in Kinesiology and earning her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation. In 2009, she officially launched De Leo Athletics, the foundation for the personalized, client-centred coaching she’s known for today.

Her experience spans a wide range of clients, from youth athletes to adults of all fitness levels, including high-performing professionals and competitive athletes. No matter who she’s working with, Giulia brings the same philosophy to every session: start with where you are, understand your body, and build a plan that moves you forward with intention and confidence.

Giulia’s training style is rooted in science and enhanced by continuous learning. She holds certifications in Functional Movement Screen (FMS 2), TRX, StrongFirst (Kettlebell and Bodyweight), and several yoga qualifications. This diverse expertise allows her to program holistically - blending strength, mobility, movement mechanics, and wellness practices to create well-rounded, sustainable progress.

As the Manager of the Sport Manitoba Fitness Centre, Giulia has also spent years shaping fitness experiences on a broader scale. She oversees facility operations, mentors trainers, leads group classes, and helps guide members toward safe, effective movement. Her leadership role reflects not only her qualifications but her reputation for professionalism, integrity, and a genuine commitment to helping people thrive.

Giulia gives back by lending her time, experience, and expertise to leading group fitness classes at the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre, a vital support for community members recovering from addiction. Giulia describes this work as some of the most meaningful she has done in her career, underscoring the link between movement and healing.

But beyond the certifications and credentials, Giulia is relatable. As a mother of three, she knows what it means to juggle life’s demands, carve out time for yourself, and overcome the barriers that make fitness feel hard. That lived experience influences everything she does - giving her the empathy, patience, and real-world perspective that clients appreciate most.
